TERMS OF BUSINESS

1) Our fees are agreed in advance of an assessment.

2) Non-attendance Fee: We are unable to accommodate late cancellations, or failure to attend, because we cannot schedule alternative appointments at such short notice.  Therefore,

a non-attendance fee of £150 will be applied in the following circumstances:
– Your client fails to attend their appointment OR
– Your client, or their solicitor, seeks to cancel their appointment with less than 48 hours notice.
The non-attendance fee will be added to the final invoice. It is the responsibility of the solicitor to pay this fee.  If the assessment does not progress further for any reason, then the solicitor will remain responsible for this fee.
3) Where cases are funded by Legal Services we will require a copy of the legal aid authority before we schedule appointments.
4) We endeavour to have reports completed within the following timescales:

– Personal injury Law– within 30 days

– Family law cases – 6 weeks from the last assessment session

5) Our policy is that the total fee must be paid in advance before the report is released.
6) Where cases are funded by Legal Services we will invoice you on completion of the assessment appointment so you have time to make the necessary arrangements for an interim payment from Legal Services before the release of the report.
7) If during our assessment, it is apparent that your client has additional assessment needs we will liaise with you regarding the best way forward.
8) If there are complex circumstances e.g. complicated psycho-social factors, complex mental or physical health presentations (either pre-existing or post-injury), this may require a longer assessment and this will be reflected in our fee.
9) If an expert is required for purposes of court we will provide an estimate of costs.
10)   In cases where an interpreter is required to facilitate an assessment, this may extend the time required for assessment and will be reflected in our fee.  The instructing solicitor will be responsible for the instruction and fee of the interpreter.
